Every father, everywhere on Earth, has felt – or will feel – exactly as I do now, at some point in their life.  She walked, tall and wearing her mother’s grace, and crossed a small rise in the platform, and became an official part of the !%.  The real 1%:  The one percent that gets a first-rate public education, the 1% that has, at eighteen years of age, gained more knowledge of the world than her father ever did.  The one with the chance, and the potential and the work-ethic to change the world.  The One.
